Your Wedding Morning — Through Your Chauffeur's Eyes

Most couples never see what happens before the car arrives. Here is what your chauffeur does from the moment the alarm goes off on your wedding morning.

—5 min read—Get Wed

You will spend your wedding morning surrounded by people who love you. Hair, makeup, champagne, nerves, laughter, tears. It is one of the most vivid mornings of your life.

What you will not see is what is happening a few miles away, in a quiet driveway in Beaconsfield, where your chauffeur has already been awake for hours.

Here is what your wedding morning looks like from our side of the windscreen.

5:30am — The Alarm Goes Off

Long before you open your eyes, Dennis is already up.

A wedding is not a job you can prepare for the night before and hope for the best. The DS420 will have been cleaned the previous day — hand-washed, hand-dried, polished — but the morning of the wedding means a second inspection in daylight. Every panel. Every piece of chrome. The interior. The ribbons. The flowers, if a floral arrangement has been requested.

By the time the sun is properly up, the car is ready. Not nearly ready. Ready.

The Route Check

Every wedding we attend has been routed in advance. We know the venue, we know the collection address, and we know the roads between them. But on the morning itself, Dennis checks again.

Roadworks appear overnight. A village fete can close a lane. A delivery lorry parked at the wrong angle can add ten minutes to a journey that looked straightforward on a map. None of that reaches you — but it has to be accounted for before we leave the driveway.

We build time into every journey. Not just the time the route takes, but the time it might take if something unexpected happens. You will never know about the diversion we took, because you will never need to.

Arriving Early — Always

We do not aim to arrive on time. We aim to arrive early, and then wait.

There is no version of a Get Wed wedding where the car pulls up at the moment it was booked. We are there before you expect us, parked quietly, engine off, everything in order. When you look out of the window and see the DS420 sitting in the road, you should feel nothing but calm.

That calm is not an accident. It is the result of everything that happened before we arrived.

The Moment We Meet You

For many couples, the moment the chauffeur knocks on the door is the first time the wedding feels completely real.

You have been getting ready for hours. The dress is on. The flowers have arrived. Everyone around you has been telling you how beautiful you look. And then the door opens, and there is the car — black over ivory coachwork, G37 WED on the plate — and something shifts.

Tracey will greet you and your wedding party warmly at the door. She will not rush you. She will help with wedding attire, make sure everyone is comfortable, and together she and Dennis will open the doors to the vehicle when you are ready.

This is the moment we have been preparing for since before dawn. We want it to feel effortless, because it should.

The Drive

The drive to your ceremony is one of the few quiet moments you will have on your wedding day.

Once the door closes and the car moves, the morning's noise falls away. There is no one asking you questions. No one needing a decision. Just the low, unhurried ride of the DS420, the road ahead, and the person beside you.

We drive slowly. Not because we have to — we have left enough time — but because this journey deserves to be taken at a pace that lets you feel it. Some couples talk the whole way. Some sit in comfortable silence. Some cry a little. All of it is fine. The car is yours for this journey, and we are simply the people making sure it happens.

The Arrival

If the weather is right and the roof is down, your guests will see you before you see them.

That is one of the things that makes a Landaulette arrival different from any other. As the DS420 turns into the venue, you are already visible — seated, composed, present. The photographs begin before the door opens. The moment is already happening.

Dennis will bring the car to a smooth stop at exactly the right point. Tracey will be ready. The door will open at the right moment, and you will step out into the day that everything has been building towards.

After the Ceremony

Our job does not end when you walk through the church door.

While you are inside, the car is repositioned, checked again, and made ready for the photographs. We will be wherever you need us — whether that is for a short drive between the ceremony and the reception, or simply parked beautifully in the background of your portraits.

When the day is done and the evening take-home is booked, we will be there for that too. The same care, the same attention, the same quiet professionalism — right to the end of your wedding day.

What We Want You to Feel

We are not in the business of simply driving people from one place to another. Anyone can do that.

What we are trying to give you is a morning that feels looked after. A journey that feels significant. An arrival that feels like the beginning of something extraordinary.

That is what we think about, every time the alarm goes off at 5:30am.

If you would like to talk to us about your wedding day, we would love to hear from you. Get in touch and let us know your date.
