Claydon House is a National Trust property near Winslow in Buckinghamshire — the ancestral seat of the Verney family, with state rooms of extraordinary Rococo decorative invention created in the 1760s by the craftsman Luke Lightfoot. Its Chinese Room, Gothic Room and ballroom are among the most remarkable interiors in England. Florence Nightingale, whose sister married into the Verney family, spent much of her later life here.
