Rousham House is home to the only English landscape garden to survive in its original form — created by William Kent between 1737 and 1741 beside the River Cherwell near Steeple Aston in Oxfordshire. Its cascades, ponds, temples, statues and winding walks create a garden of extraordinary poetic beauty, entirely unaltered since Kent completed it. The house itself, a Caroline manor of 1635, has been in the same family since it was built.
